A trip after a long time, started as discussion in mail and came into existence. We decided on Wayanad as destination. Five guys from Chennai and six guys from Bangalore(including me), all my college mates, started from Bangalore on Friday morning in a tempo traveller. On the way had breakfast and finally reached Wayanad at 2pm. Because of long travel, every one were busted out. Directly went to the hotel,we had booked a dormitory. Refreshed ourselves, had lunch and started side seeing. First was Phantom rock. The name seemed fundu, and it was supposed to be robot shaped. After seeing the rock, we were totally disappointed, it didn’t look like a robot, it was just some three to four rocks placed one above the other. Guys choose BanasuraSagar dam as the next destination. On reaching the dam, we climbed up the dam and had a look at the view. Lot of localities were fishing in the dam. The dam seemed to be very old one. After which we tested the skills of photographers we took with us(SaiRam,Vignesh and SaiKrishna) :) . They tried hard to capture us in the most handsome way they could. It was almost dark and that was the last place we were able to visit that day. After having dinner, few slept and few played cards. Next day cleaned ourselves and we were heading towards Edakkal caves. This was close to a trek. There was no steps and we had to climb on the rocks, Edakkal caves had lot of carvings from the stone age. Since it was a holiday, it was heavily crowded, so climbing and getting down back took a lot time and it kept raining. After having lunch we decided to trek the Chembra peak. Unfortunately trekking is allowed only till 2pm and we reached the peak around 3pm and so we had to return back. Meenmutty and Soochipara waterfalls were in our list. On the way to Meenmutty, localities informed us that because of the heavy rain there has been land slide and people are not allowed to go to the waterfall. Guys got a bit frustrated, Pookote lake was the only option we were left with. Went for boating in lake even though it was raining. Got drenched completely and returned to the hotel. Had dinner and after few rounds of cards, jumped into bed. Me and Sairam were left with the most number of points :P , player with least number of points won the game. Next day guys got ready for the trekking very enthusiastically because trekking was one of the main aim of the trip. We reached Chembra peak and hired a guide. Slowly it became steep and steep. First we went to the watch tower and from there the actual trekking started. There was no path. I don’t know how do guides remember the way!! We walked all through rocks, plants, water and slowly guys started tiring. Photo session was the only motivating factor :D . Finally we were standing infront of the heart shaped lake. Guide asked us to remove shoes and verify whether he had got leech bite. I thought i was lucky but finally Sairam pointed out that i had a leech bite. On the way up Vins got two bites which he found out and the guide helped in removing the leeches. After washing legs and hands in the lake and ofcourse after photo session we started heading down. Almost everyone were exhausted and hungry because of the tedious trek. Had good non-veg lunch and we started towards Bangalore back. Before i end, gang includes SaiKrishna, Narayanan, Arun Prasath, Vignesh, Vins, SaiRam, MuthuKrishnan, Manoj Kumar, Ravi and Ashok. The complete trip was absolute fun and going with college mates added to the fun, thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

After a long time got a chance to cycle. BSA Hercules organized Cyclothon, which was all about riding cycle. I took part in the corporate ride which is 25kms. It took approximately 1hr and 45 minutes for me to complete the total distance. The ride was at the NICE road, as the name suggests the road was very nice and smooth(NICE stands forNandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises). People from all over Bangalore came and participated in the event. People brought their cycles in car, used them for the event and took them in car back. I was amazed to see that, people give so much importance to cycling. That day night hands and legs were paining like hell :( !! Funny thing was i registered for 50kms :) , then changed it to 25km. What could have happened if i hadn’t changed, i wouldn’t have covered the whole distance !!

A part of the train journey from Mayiladuthurai to Bangalore was amazing. I am not a good orator or narrator.. but let me try describing it in the best way i could.. the train started at Mayiladuthurai, mine was 3tier AC. Only 4-5 people boarded the coach in Mayiladuthurai. The AC temp was perfect, the train started. Slowly it started raining, i lied down in the side berth near the window, coach absolutely silent, no people walking,no catering service boys, not even speech sounds were heard, i experienced the so called “pin drop silence”.. seeing the rain droplets dripping on the window pane, my mp3 playing nenjukul paythedum ma malai from Vaarnam Ayiram, full greenish fields on both side of the train .. mind was absolutely free wandering.. awesome experience !!

I am going to jot down a few things in this post. All these don’t need separate posts.

1. Went back to college to conduct mock interviews and to train juniors for their upcoming placements.

2. TCE Bangalore Alumni Chapter was inaugurated. But was not able to attend the function because of some unavoidable reasons.

3. Read Five point some one. Awesome book!! After reading this book i wanted to write a book on my college days. But nothing so interesting happened all through my four years of college life :( .

4.Participated in the company annual day. Got videos and photos. Yet to upload them.

5. Completed one year of corporate life few days back. Looking back the one year.. as usual i havent done anything concrete other than watching movies and sleeping.

6. Follow me on Twitter. On the left side panel i have added a twitter badge. On click my twitter home page will load :) .

From my point of view the following are the characteristics of a bachelor software engineer :

(i may be a typical example :) )

1. Go near any door and search for the access card.
2. Decide on the house to stay based on the hotels near by.
3. Open irctc.co.in and holiday list atleast twice a day.
4. Freak out every Friday night.
5. Go to trips or treks, important thing is, take photos and upload in orkut.
6. Oops how did i miss this .. stay online in Gtalk all through the day with busy status even though there is no work.
7. Computer and Internet will become the right and left hand .. can u imagine being without the right and left hand ?
8. Have mobile phone always in pocket
9. Crib on each and everything seen of the road.
10. Keep discussing on the events that happened during college days.
11. Hear songs and watch every movie inspite of knowing its bad review.
12. Think of joining some music instrument coaching.

“This has changed.. , you are changed.. , we are changing.. , we need to change.. ”

Oops, I have been hearing all these statements over the past one month constantly. So what has changed over the past one month? So let me list down, I was staying in Madurai for the past seven years and now my father has been transferred to Avinashi, a place 40km from Coimbatore. All shifting work is over. Next, I am staying with my friends in Banasvadi(Bangalore). The area is not that developed. It has very few hotels and shops, so we decided to move on to a better area. We have confirmed a house in an area called Tin Factory. We will be shifting soon. Third one, I have been moved to a new team in office, so ramping up in the new team. So this means new team members, new work, and new domain. Last one (hopefully, if there are no more surprises), my cubicle in office has been changed. So because of all these constant changes I call this month “The Month of Changes”. Changes are good for life, indeed life needs changes, but rapid changes are hard to accept. Anything that is with us for ten days becomes part and parcel of our life, leaving it all of a sudden becomes difficult. Trying to accept changes. :)

1. Of course the first reason is shifting it to South Africa .. i was planning to watch one live, not lucky this year.
2. Pitches : T20 is famous for big hits (remember first match of the last IPL), this year not even a single match was that interesting because of the pitches. Pitches have made bowlers task easy. The average score of this season has been ~150 runs and even chasing this small score has been difficult at times. The teams cannot be blamed for this.
3. Missing foreign players : IPL has been interesting only when teams have a mix for players from all countries. Because of the various series like Australia vs Pakistan, England vs West Indies, few players didn’t turn up for the season and few only for few matches.
4. England players making entry to IPL created lot of expectation. But it was a total flop. Kevin Petersen, Andrew Flintoff were bought for 1.55 million each and they didn’t deliver anything worthy enough to watch. Paul Collingwood and O’Shah didn’t get a chance to showcase their talents and sat in dugout the whole season and returned back.
5. This is the one i hated the most. In the name of strategic time out there has been lot of breaks which is absolutely not necessary. Of course necessary for organizers to make money. But it should not be so long.

After a long time i got a chance to meet all my college friends :) . Degree certificates were being distributed in college and all friends decide on a single date, so that a small get-together can be arranged. 28th of this month was finalised. On 28th morning sairam, vins and venkatapathy arrived to saikrishna’s home. I went over there and we all started to college in three bikes. In few minutes i met all my friends, we started exchanging various incidents that happened  over the last 10 months. We all went to the college office and received our degree certificates. Finally i have become an engineer :) (now i have proof with me). We were informed that we have some meeting with principal, but it seemed like no such meeting was planned. Spent lot of time with friends and it feels good to meet all friends after a long time. After this, meeting everyone or arranging an get-together will become difficult since everyone will become busy with work.

Today read an article in Times of India. The article was about an computer techie who lost his finger in an accident. The guy has designed an prosthetic finger which is an USB drive. He peels off his nail and plugs into the port. And this finger is removable from his body. After reading this article i remember my school days , parents and teacher used to tell “everything should be on your finger tips”. He is the only guy now who can have everything on his finger tips upto to 2gb :) . Need to appreciate the guy for thinking out of the box.

I wanted to be the first of everyone in posting about this trip. This was second trip for me. First one was a trekking trip to Yelagiri hills. This time we decide on Malpe, St.Mary’s island as the trip’s main spots and decided to visit places around that. We, a gang of 12 people started on friday night and reached Udupi after the whole night travel. kudremukh national park was on the way to Udupi. Got down took some photos and continued the travel. The national park was greenish thick vegetation. One would love to stay in a place like that. We were not allowed to spend much time there because of some security issues. We were able to find a good lodge booked some rooms. After a shower we were ready to ready to rock!! Udupi was famous for idly and sambhar, so went to hotel and had good breakfast. Started towards Malpe. Malpe was some 6kms from Udupi and it hardly took half an hour. Malpe has a shipyard. Other than the shipyard there is nothing much to spend time. From there to reach St.Mary’s island we had to travel through boats. Boat travel took some half an hour and finally we were in island. Changed dress and got into the water and started playing. We were jumping, running, … crazy !! After enjoying the beach again got into normal clothes and what’s next, photo session. Took photos and it was time for our boat back. Again after half an hour of travel we were back in Malpe. It was lunch time. People who visit beach don’t come without having sea food, we are not exceptions. Went into hotel and it was completely fish time :) . The taste was not that great and we wern’t happy with the way the hotel guys behaved because they took a lot time and they didnt respond well. We started towards the Maravanthe beach. It took almost an hour to reach the beach. In few minutes people were able to see Ronaldo’s and Rooney’s. We started playing football :) . We called it beach football. My team lost in the match. And about the specialty of the beach is that there is river running parallel to the beach but it doesn’t merge with the beach, it takes its own path. On the way back to hotel we visited a temple. Reached hotel had good dinner and started playing cards. At 12 we were gone out of control  since last night none of us slept and so went for sleep. That is the end of the first day.

Next day no one dared to get up before 6. Everyone got up at 7.30 and had shower. The Udupi krishnan temple was very near to the place we stayed and it was a very famous one. Had darshan of Lord Krishna and completed breakfast. We tried out some new dishes available only in Mangalore or Udupi. We started towards Kaup beach. It was few kilometers from our hotel. On the way we played damsharats and heard songs. After reaching the beach we were amazed to see the beach. Not even a single soul was there. We ever the only guys there. We started playing volley ball in the water. Took photos and kicked off from there. There was a plan of visiting Kodachadri hills. On the way we felt like it was too far because everyone had office the very next day. The plan got cancelled and we started heading towards Bangalore. The cab driver suggested us to visit Tunga river since it was on the way. After few hours of travel we were at the banks of Tunga river. Spent some time there taking photos and playing in water. We started towards Bangalore. Around 2.30 am i was near my house. Really a memorable and wonderful trip. Thanks for the organizers. The gang details Pramod, Prabhu, Deivapalan,Rajesh, Senthil, Praveen, Shyam, Sai, Prakash, Muthusivam, Subramani and ofcourse me :) . Most of the gang members are my seniors. This is just an small description of the trip.
